The BirdLife Australia Bird Conservation portal

Thanks to generous support from major donors, including WildlifeLink and the NSW Twitchathon, BirdLife Australia is in the process of delivering a Bird Conservation Portal. The Bird Conservation Portal will draw together structured bird monitoring, the synthesis and analysis of bird data and biological, ecological and conservation reporting in one place. The portal will have three major components:

Birdata - Bird monitoring

Bird Conservation

Bird research

The initial phase, currently being implemented, is focussed on developing our Bird monitoring core bird survey functionality (Birdata), in particular development of tools to encourage the structured bird monitoring needed to support bird conservation. The research and Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas modules are also in early development.

Please see the update documents on the links below to follow progress or get involved in testing and feedback.
